VAG establishes Viking Kontroll
With the car industry in great change and increasing share of ownership through leasing agreements, Viking and our partners see the need for, and the importance of, a neutral player in Norway for vehicle inspection, valuation and control – covering services related to the return of leasing cars at the end of agreed period, condition reports for sales between private individuals and periodic vehicle control.
Viking Kontroll will deliver a flexible valuation- and re-delivery solution for leased vehicles, tailored to the needs of the consumer and dealers, while maintaining a neutral assessment of abnormal wear and tear when returning a leased vehicle or when buying or selling your vehicle.
Kjell Rese has been hired to establish and lead Viking Kontroll. Mr. Rese is a familiar face in the automotive industry and comes from the position of director Bertel O. Steen Detalj. During his career, Mr. Rese has been active across the automotive brands through his work in the Norwegian automotive federation (Norge Bibransjeforbund, NBF). Mr. Rese was a key driver in the important groundwork to clarify and ensure consumer’s rights and obligations under a lease when the market standard lease contracts were revised a recently. Kjell Rese starts in Viking on April 1 2018 and aim to have the first services ready in Oslo during the summer.
